Annihilation. Annihilation is a 2018 science fiction psychological horror film written and directed by Alex Garland, loosely based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Jeff VanderMeer. It stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Tessa Thompson, Tuva Novotny, and Oscar Isaac. The story follows a group of explorers who enter Merging horror, sci-fi, and a little time tripping, this is one wild ambulance ride. Thanks to 2017’s The Endless , streaming fans already were switched on to the creepy connected sci-fi story-verse sprung from the minds of co-directors Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, the latter of whom also starred.
